"Forever After" ist insofern eine dezente Mogelpackung, weil die Gruppe Angels Of Venice eigentlich nicht an der Entstehung beteiligt war. Das nordamerikanische Original dieses Albums hieß "Music For Harp"; als Interpret wurde die Frontfrau besagter Formation - Carol Tatum - genannt.
Wenn man den Infos auf dem Cover glauben darf, wurde dieses Album ausschließlich bei Kerzenschein aufgenommen. Entsprechend mystisch ist die Atmosphäre.
Die Musik ist in erster Linie durchzogen von keltischen Einflüssen. Das zeigt sich in der Instrumentierung, die voll und ganz auf die Harfe ausgerichtet ist, aber auch in der Begleitung, die hin und wieder an die Synthi-Teppiche erinnert, die von Enya verwendet werden. Dabei bleibt die Musik allerdings eigenständig, wirkt größtenteils zurückhaltend, düster, melancholisch und verträumt. Ihre Musik erschien zeitweise auf einem New Age-Label, wo sie auch durchaus gut aufgehoben wäre, wenn die Musik nur etwas leichter und optimistischer klingen würde. Zwar gibt es auch Stücke, die etwas gelöster daherkommen ("Parson‘s Farewell" und "Wildflowers" wären solche Beispiele), aber sie befinden sich deutlich in der Unterzahl. Ein melancholisches Rotwein-Album zum Abschalten und Nachdenken. |
